3rd International Conference on Artificial Intelligence in Engineering and Technology 2006, Malaysia August 25, 2006

This is the third in the series of international conferences organised by the School of Engineering and Information Technology, Universiti Malaysia Sabah, in the area of artificial intelligence. The first conference, ICAIET 2002, held on 17-18 June 2002 was very successful. In ICAIET 2002, there were 150 participants from 13 countries where 131 papers were presented in various fields of AI and its applications. There were 4 key note addresses – two from Malaysia, one from Japan and one from Italy.

In the second conference, ICAIET 2004, held on 3-5 August 2004, 165 technical papers were selected for presentation from 300 submissions. 250 delegates from 19 countries around the world participated in this international event. There were 4 keynote speakers from USA, Korea, Japan and UK respectively. It was decided that ICAIET conferences would be organized once every two years.

The outcome of ICAIET 2006 will be very beneficial to students, researchers, industrialists, institutions of higher learning and government organizations in Malaysia and around the world.
